DAVID DISCIPIO HAS SIGNED A 2-YEAR DEAL WITH THE NORTHEAST NUTS.

David discipio has made his decision. He was offered a 2-year deal by the Nuts and the Wildcats. He had an opportunity to go play with his brother, but passed it up to play with Cam King and Charlie Carrara. Coincidentally, Michael, David's brother, was also the top free agent last year. Michael decided to resign with the wildcats, David decided to move elsewhere to the Northeast Nuts. Michael waited until December 30 to make a decision, but David made a decision just 2 days after the free agents were announced.

THREE HUGE NEW RULES HAVE BEEN ADDED TO THE THL RULEBOOK.

There have been 3 major rules that have been added for the 2025 THL season. Today we will discuss these rules and how they will affect the game or season.

#1) "Foot faceoff" ban

The "foot faceoff" originated in the 2023 playoffs by Nick Gentile. It was where the player would put their hand on the net and their foot would be right beside the ball. It seemed dumb initially because it was easily counterable and new, so the person doing it wouldn't be as good at it. Eventually, people kept practicing it and more people started doing it. This became so popular that everyone in the league used it except for Brendan Philpott and the Westcoast Wildcats. In the 2024 THL finals, the commissioner and the co-commissioner noticed something wrong about the faceoff. But it has just been announced that the faceoff has been banned and you now need a hand and foot on the net at the same time.

#2) 4 game series

In 2023 and 2024, there were 3-game series with each team playing 6 series. In 2025, each team will play 5 series of 4 games in each series. "There might not be a winner of every series, but there could be some great rivalries created. Picture that the Flaming TP play the Polars and the series is 2-2. Now, they're in the playoffs against each other. That would be a near-perfect storyline." Nick Gentile said about the rule.

#3) No more getting the ball back after a timeout

A rule was originated right before the 2023 season, which was if you call a timeout, you will get the ball back. But, if you just scored your 9th goal and call a timeout, you will not get the ball back. Now, you won't get the ball back at all. Also at the 2024 finals, Nick Gentile and Brendan Philpott noticed that the timeouts seemed to take up a lot of time. They also realized that it will mostly go back to where the lead originally came from. For example, if someone calls a timeout after they go up 7-6, they will score to make it 8-6, then the other team will score to make it 8-7, call a timeout, then score again to make it 8-8 and send the score back to where it stared. They saw this waste of time, and decided to get rid of this rule and now the players can still call a timeout, but they will not get the ball back.

THE 2025 DRAFT HAS CONCLUDED -  HERE'S THE FULL BREAKDOWN.

The highly anticipated 2025 THL draft has concluded. The draft order went as follows:

There were many great options to go to only 6 teams, so let's cover every player that was selected.

Tyler Tracey - 5 Star - #1 overall pick

Tyler Tracey had little to no hope in last year's draft. As expected, he went undrafted. He had a lot of strengths, his size, shot, and many more. But the one key factor was availability. He couldn't even make it to the combine or the prospect tournament last year. Brendan Philpott, GM of the Wildcats said, "I was confident that Tracey would drop far or even go undrafted." Coincidentally, Tracey wound up getting selected first overall by the Westcoast Wildcats, most likely through the relationship as he and Philpott are cousins.

Dominic King - 3 Star - #2 overall pick

Dominic King also went undrafted last year. He was an all-around good player but only one thing stood out, not in a good way. His size. He was by far the smallest kid in last year's draft. Despite his size, the new GM of the Pacific Polars, Pete Richmond, selected him 2nd overall in the 2025 THL draft. The Pacific Polars lineup is pretty weak, so this could help the Polars to make a potential playoff run.

Colin Roach - 4 Star - #3 overall pick

Colin Roach was among the new additions to this year's draft class. His major standout was his scoring, he also has a decent size. This eventually led to him being picked 3rd overall by the Atlantic Aliens. Even though the Aliens may not use him frequently, this is a solid pickup for the Aliens as Nick Gentile enters his last season.

Caleb Scribner - 4 star - #4 overall pick

Caleb Scribner was kind of a shocker to some. Despite his 4-star, GMs overlooked him heavily, the reason is unknown. He has a very good size and a middle-of-the-pack scoring ability. Leo Byrne saw something inside of him that ended up making him a Reaper with the 4th overall pick.

Jack Bohemer - 3 star - #5 overall pick

Jack Bohemer was probably the most unexpected pick in this draft. He was the lowest-rated prospect out of all of the prospects. His size is average but his shot is below average. We are still unsure of how he is going to fit into the Nuts or what role he is going to play, the one thing we do know is that Cam King and Charlie Carrara are very close to Bohemer which could be good for chemistry.

Colin Chan - 4 star - #6 overall pick

Colin Chan was a sneaky underrated player going into this year's draft. He got a lot of praise from the commissioner and GM of the Aliens, Nick Gentile. He has a good size and average scoring. He could be a sneaky weapon the Flaming TP have and could potentially overthrow TJ Loftus in that backup position by the end of the year. This pickup could make the Flaming TP even more deadly for a potential repeat.
